Teachers stage protest in front of school

May 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KASARAGOD:

Protesting against what they termed the ‘unceremonious removal’ of five senior woman teachers of an unaided school at Pallikare, near Bekal, a group of teachers, under the aegis of the Kerala Unaided School Teachers’ Organisation, staged a day-long agitation in front of the school on Friday.

The teachers of the I.E.M.H.S., Pallikare, accused the management of removing the teachers who had eight to 30 years of service, citing lack of requisite proficiency in computer and visual media.

The protesters said they had taken up the issue with the senior district officials concerned. But talks with the school management did not yield any positive results.

The teachers have warned of indefinite agitation from June 1 if the authorities failed to resolve the issue.
