Solar lights for Rosemala

The Rotary Club of Quilon has come up with a scheme to install solar lighting in 135 houses at Rosemala here. Club president D. Jayaprakash the scheme would benefit the economically weak. Rosemala is situated in the Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a plantation area and most of the residents — there are 235 families here, as per panchayat statistics— are plantation workers.

The scheme will be inaugurated by N.K. Premachandran, MP, on June 4.

Rotary district governor K.S. Sasikumar will deliver the keynote address. K. Raju, MLA, and district panchayat president S. Jayamohan will speak on the occasion. — Special Correspondent
