SNS distances itself from greater Hindu unity

October 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - KOTTAYAM:

The Samastha Nair Samajam (SNS) will not be part of the greater Hindu unity efforts unless the issue of reservation is settled, general secretary Perumuttom Radhakrishnan has said. He told mediapersons here that the unity efforts, and a proposed political party for the purpose, being forged under the leadership of the SNDP would serve the interests on one community alone. “We will not cooperate with such political parties or initiatives,” he said.

The SNS was of opinion that there should not be discrimination in the name of caste. He said the SNS would launch a five-day fasting in front of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram demanding equal justice for the community. The fasting would commence on October 5 and last till October 9, he said.
