Braving the inclement weather conditions, devotees on Monday began trekking the Sabarimala hillock to offer prayers at the Lord Ayyappa temple, which has been opened for the eight-day Medam-Vishu puja.

The annual ‘Vishukani’ darshan for the devotees will be held on Friday morning, the second day of the Malayalam month of Medam. Travancore Devaswom Board president K. Ananthagopan and member Manoj Charalel will be present on the occasion.

The temple was opened on Sunday evening by Melsanthi Parameswaran Nampoothiri and it will be closed on April 18.
