P.K. Sreemathi, MP, has urged the Railway authorities to re-construct the Railway Institute here.

A portion of the institute on the Kannur railway station premises caved in on June 12 as a result of heavy rain. In a representation to the Railway Divisional Manager (Palakkad) Anand Prakash, the MP said the institute here was one of the oldest railway institutes in the State.

She said the Railway authorities should take steps for the reconstruction of the building and for the revival of the institute that served as an art and cultural body of railway employees. - Special Correspondent
