Reading week fete from tomorrow

The district administration will organise reading week celebrations from June 19 to 25. Reading Day will be observed on June 19.

The district-level inauguration of the programme will be held at Cherthala Government Girls Higher Secondary School by P. Thilothaman, MLA, on June 19. District Collector N. Padmakumar will preside over the function. Distinguished personalities in education and cultural fields will be felicitated by district panchayat president U. Pratibhahari.

Keynote address will be made by lyricist Vayalar Saratchandra Varma.

Seminars on literary works of famous writers will be held at SD College from June 19 to 25. A rally to highlight the importance of reading will be taken out from SD College to the home of P.N. Panikker, a pioneer in library movement, at Neelamperoor.
