: District Collector N. Padmakumar has sought a report from the authorities at Alappuzha Medical College in a case pertaining to feeding an infant with HIV infected breast milk. The infected milk was said to have been given to the child without consulting the doctors. Sources said that the woman, who delivered a baby last week, was apparently not able to adequately breastfeed the infant. The woman’s bystander got breast milk from a woman hailing from Tamil Nadu, who was reportedly an HIV patient.
