The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has sought a probe against the former Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kerala (CUK) for facilitating alleged corrupt dealings in the institution.

At a press conference here on Friday, DYFI State unit president T.V. Rajesh, MLA, said there were several unhealthy practices, including posting of faculty members in violation of all University Grants Commission norms during the tenure of Jancy James, the first Vice Chancellor (VC). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should extend its probe to such dealings.

The CBI on Thursday had filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the CBI court against two persons in a case relating to corruption in outsourcing security services in the offices of the university.

Mr. Rajesh said the CBI probe was instituted after the DYFI in November 2013 highlighted the irregularities.
