Poll code applicable for Central aid distribution: Collector

October 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - ALAPPUZHA:

District Collector N. Padmakumar has said that implementation of Central schemes for rural development should be done in accordance with the regulations enshrined in the model code of conduct.

He said here on Thursday that new beneficiaries under the Indira Awaz Yojna should neither be selected nor be given financial aid. There would be no restriction on distribution of aid to those who had already been selected.

Selection of new beneficiaries and distribution of funds under Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojna too were prohibited.

If all works under the yojna had been completed in any panchayat and if Central funds had been allocated for undertaking works to generate more employment, such work could be taken up with prior permission from the district electoral authority.

If partial grant or subsidy had been allocated under Swarnajayanthi Rozgar Yojna, the remaining tranches could be given, the Collector said.

Job scheme

Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, those who had received employment card could be given work in existing projects. In case new projects were required to provide employment, only those projects which had got prior approval, should be taken up, subject to the permission of the District Collector.

The restrictions were applicable to all local self-governments, he said.
