Police told to arraign Kuriakose as accused

Cases registered in connection with hartal

The Additional Advocate General has advised the State police to arraign Dean Kuriakose, State president, Youth Congress, as an accused in all cases registered in the State in connection with the hartal on February 18.

The Kasaragod police should ensure that M.C. Kamarudheen and M. Govindan Nair, chairman and convener respectively of the United Democratic Front in Kasaragod, be arraigned as accused in all the cases registered in Kasaragod district, he said.

The police have also been advised to ensure that all office-bearers and leaders of the Sabarimala Karma Samithi, Hindu Aikya Vedi, RSS, and BJP Kerala unit are made accused in all cases registered across the State in relation to the hartal held on January 3.

The arraigning of the accused in all cases should be completed within a week, it has been directed.

The State Police Chief has also been directed to quantify the damage caused to public and private properties in an authentic manner and details submitted to the office of the Additional Advocate General before February 28.
