May 24, 2011 08:26 pm | Updated 08:26 pm IST - KOTTAYAM:

John Kennedy, a promoter of lottery agent Megha Distributors, was questioned by the police here on Tuesday in connection with a case filed here last year.

According to the police, the case involves the confiscation of over 26,000 tickets of Sikkim Super Kings lottery on January 10, 2010, in a raid here, held as part of a Statewide operation. The tickets were due for draw on January 16.

The police said that issues involving the financial dealings in connection with the lottery, whether the lottery conformed to the related Central legislations and whether the agency had paid tax to the government of Sikkim, were dealt with during the questioning. The report of the day's business would be submitted to the Lottery Monitoring Committee. Mr. Kennedy returned to Coimbatore after the day-long questioning, the police said.
