Police have arrested Babu (42) of Thonganamkuzhi House, Kunnelpeedika near Pampady in connection with the murder of Geevarghese alias Wilson, his relative and assistant at Meenadom village office, last Sunday.
According to police, the accused was hiding in Changanassery. They could arrest him on the basis of information received by Changanassery police. He was nabbed from TB Road area in the town after a chase.
According to police, Babu, who was serving jail term in a murder case was on parole. His relationship with wife had estranged and Geevarghese, who is the husband of Babu’s wife’s cousin had interfered in the matter.
On Sunday night Babu had gone to Geevarghese’s house. When he opened the door Babu stabbed him and escaped before the neighbours arrived. Geevarghese had died on the way to Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
