New Court block to be opened tomorrow

The brand new block of the Alappuzha District Court will be inaugurated here on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Alappuzha Bar Association president P. Roy said Justice Manjula Chellur, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Kerala, would inaugurate the ‘A-Block’ at 2.30 p.m. Union Minister of State for Power K.C. Venugopal will preside over the function, which will have Finance Minister K.M. Mani as chief guest and Minister for Public Works V.K. Ebrahim Kunju delivering the keynote address.

High Court judge Justice S. Siri Jagan will inaugurate the Bar Association Hall in the same building complex while former Finance Minister, T.M. Thomas Isaac, MLA, will offer felicitations.

The new complex, which will house four courts, including the Chief Judicial Magistrate court, and the Bar Association, will also have a resting room for senior lawyers who have completed 25 years of service.
