Misuse of microphones to invite action

Strict action will be taken against sound pollution using microphones in connection with the local body elections, District Collector has informed.

If violations of norms were noticed, the equipment would be seized and licence withdrawn. The places where the election meetings are held, microphones will be allowed only 2 hours prior to the meeting and should be switched off immediately after it.

Public can make complaints regarding sound pollution at the election room in the Collectorate. Also, police sanction should be sought prior to the use of microphones, said an official release here.
