Meet of prosthetics and orthotics professionals

The Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics-Kerala will organise its first State-level conference in Kottayam on Saturday and Sunday.

Ian Cardozo, chairman, Rehabilitation Council of India, will inaugurate the conference. The venue is Hotel Vijaya Park.

The organisers said at press conference here on Thursday that the event was expected to bring together prosthetics and orthotics professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthopaedics, physiatrists (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists), and students from related fields. Scientific papers would be presented during the various sessions.

A pre-conference workshop would be held at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Government Medical College here on Friday. A. Meharunnisa, Principal of the college, will inaugurate the workshop.

SPOK president Himanshu Kumar Patnaik; founder secretary Shaju V. Cherian; and K.C. Dipu and Reny Paul, organising secretaries of the conference; were present.
