KU Syndicate calls for creation of teaching posts

50 posts include 6 of Professor, 13 of Associate Professor

The Syndicate of the University of Kerala, which met here on Tuesday, decided to recommend to the State government the creation of around 50 teaching posts.

These included six Professor posts, 13 Associate Professor posts, and 29 Assistant Professors in nine study departments, including Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Demography, Institute of Management in Kerala, Law, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Optoelectronics, Sociology, and International Centre for Kerala Studies.

It was also resolved to notify that all vacant posts of ‘Statutory Officers’ and those in study departments that were yet to be notified. The posts included Controller of Examinations, Director of Student Services, Finance Officer and Assistant Director of the Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension (CACEE).

The Syndicate also decided to observe the National Science Day in an extensive manner on February 28 with an aim of fostering scientific temper among younger generations. Instructions will be issued to all study departments, and government, aided and other colleges to mark the observance in a befitting manner.
