Mayor Prasanna Earnest told the Kollam Corporation Council on Thursday that the solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan had tried to meet her in her office for getting a contract to fix solar panels at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here.
“The suggestion to fix solar panels at the stadium had been made by the then Sport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumarm,” she said adding that though Sarith and Biju waited outside her cabin for some time, she refused to meet them.
The Mayor said the inspection of eateries by the health wing of the Corporation would continue and eateries found violating hygiene standards would be closed down. Councillors called for strong action against a restaurant where there was an attempt to manhandle the health wing officials who went for an inspection on Wednesday.
