A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Thursday slammed the State government for not filing an affidavit in response to a public interest petition against the proposed Aranmula International Airport project.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon directed the government to file an affidavit or a statement in one month. The court observed that if the government did not file an affidavit within this time, it would proceed with the case without considering the government affidavit.

The directives were passed on a petition filed by P. Prasad, secretary, CPI District Council, Pathanamthitta, seeking a directive to the District Collector to restore the government land and paddy land encroached and reclaimed by KGS Aranmula International Airport Limited.
