Kerala floods: Aug. 30 special Assembly session to discuss reconstruction

Cabinet asks all departments to come up with action plans for reconstruction efforts.

A special session of the Kerala Assembly would be held on August 30 to discuss the aftermath of the flood havoc and the reconstruction challenge before the State .

The decision to convene the Assembly was taken by the Cabinet on Tuesday.

The Cabinet decided to impose a 10 % cess on State GST to raise funds for reconstruction.

 It asked all departments to come up with action plans for reconstruction efforts.
