Intra-party issues led to Baby’s defeat: CPI(M)

January 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - KOLLAM:

Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] district unit secretary K. Rajagopal has said that the defeat of party Polit Bureau member M.A. Baby from Kollam in the last Lok Sabha election is ‘‘largely due to some serious organisational problems within the CPI(M) and not because of the Revolutionary Socialist Party quitting the Left Democratic Front (LDF).’’

Addressing a press conference here on Friday in connection with the three-day district conference of his party beginning January 26, Mr. Rajagopal said it was because of this that the leadership conducted a probe into the defeat, identified the causes, and took corrective measures.
