If you can do it, we can do it better, seems to be the message the Kerala Police are trying to send across to their counterparts in New Zealand.
The Eastern District Police in New Zealand had created quite a sensation on social media following a meme they posted soon after the visiting Indian team thrashed the New Zealanders in the first two One Day International matches.
Warning
“Police would like to issue a warning to the members of the public about the exploits of a group touring the country at the moment. Witnesses report seeing this group badly assault a bunch of innocent looking New Zealanders in both Napier and Mt Maunganu in the last week. Extra care should be taken if you are carrying anything that looks like a cricket bat or ball,” read the post by the Eastern District Police.
With the Indians wrapping up the series in style, the Kerala Police have come up with a reply to this on their official Facebook page.
In a post featuring the photo of the victorious Indian team with the caption ‘Most Wanted’, the Kerala Police said the group that “assaulted the innocent New Zealanders” was found to be “men in blue who like kiwi juice”.
Upcoming match
The police also went on to warn that having won the ODI in Maunganui, the group is “ready for crushing the Kiwis at Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton”, in an obvious reference to the upcoming three-match T20 series.
