SDPI workers had hacked 3 protesters

The police on Friday arrested four Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) workers who hacked three BJP workers in hartal-related violence at Ganeshamangalam near Vadanappally.

The arrested are Faizal, 43; Moinuddin, 26; Nawab, 45; and Anwar, 33.

Attempt to murder case

The Vadanappally police have charged a case of murder attempt against them.

Three Bharatiya Janata Party workers were injured during a clash in connection with forcibly closing a an eatery at Ganeshamangalam on the hartal day. Five people were injured in the incident. The clash occurred when the SDPI workers opposed the BJP workers who demanded the closure of the eatery. Three BJP workers, K.B. Sreejith, Sujith, and Ratheesh, were hacked by the SDPI workers during the clash.

Widespread violence

There was widespread violence during the hartal at Vadanappally. The hartal supporters destroyed a shop. The police have taken cases against 50-odd people of the BJP and the SDPI.
