Thiruvalla celebrated the Guinness Book entry of the documentary, 100 years of Chrysostom , on the 102-year- old Metropolitan Emeritus Philipose Mar Chrysostom on Sunday.

The documentary made by filmmaker Blessy has been adjudged the longest biographical documentary.

Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs V. Muraleedharan inaugurated the event at the SC Seminary Higher Secondary School grounds.

Head of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar Joseph Mar Thoma presided.

Mr. Muraleedharan presented the Guinness certificate to Mr. Blessy.

Braving age-related ailments, Mar Chrysostom too turned up on a wheelchair and spent about 10 minutes on the stage.

Actor Mohanlal presented him with a ‘ponnada’.

M. Jayachandran who scored the music of the documentary; K.S. Chitra, playback singer; Benyamin, novelist; K.R. Meera, writer; Stephen Devassy, musician, were present.

Interactions

Mar Chrysostom’s one-to-one interaction with 100 celebrities and 10 prominent cartoonists form an important part in the documentary.

The voiceover is by Mohanlal and music by M. Jayachandran, Stephen Devassy and Saa.
