Activists of all political parties have been trying hard to be different in their electioneering as they approach the voters. Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) men have been found overzealous in many parts of Malappuram district. At Cherumukku west in Nannambra panchayat, the League men were found taking out processions wearing green dhoti and white T-shirt and wielding green-and-white umbrella.
They were campaigning for their independent candidate V.P. Maimoonath, who was contesting against the Congress’s Haseena Safwan.
“When we contest against our own partner, we ought to really prove our might,” said Mohammed Mustafa, a young IUML worker.
