Complaints about entries on the priority list prepared under the National Food Security Act will be considered even after the distribution of new ration cards, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies P. Thilothaman has said.

Replying to a submission of A.N. Shamseer on the anomalies in the priority list in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Thilothaman said the list had been subjected to scrutiny at various levels, but in the wake of complaints, the government would weed out the ineligible even after issuing the new ration cards. Mr. Shamseer said the ineligible had found a place on the list at the cost of poor eligible beneficiaries and it should be rectified.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in reply to a submission of P.T. Thomas on need for including elected representatives in the governing council of the Greater Cochin Development Authority and also that of the Kochi Mobility Hub, said the rules for constituting the council of the mobility hub do not have provisions to include the local MLA as well as the Kochi Mayor and district panchayat president.

The government would nominate all the three to the GCDA executive council and thus they would be able to attend its executive council too, Mr. Vijayan said.
