Govt. policies leading to growth of Maoists: KDF

January 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 10:40 am IST - KOLLAM:

State president of the Kerala Dalit Federation (KDF), P. Ramabhadran has said that policies of the State’s mainstream political parties and development projects of the government that sideline the scheduled communities were creating a fertile ground for the growth of Maoists in the State.

Addressing a district-level executive committee meeting of his party here on Thursday, Mr. Ramabhadran said that if such attitudes continue it will not be surprising if the Maoists gain a foothold in the State. People who lead the Left parties should ponder over the grounds which enabled the growth of Maoists. Use of weapons by Maoists against the government and by the government against Maoists is wrong, he said.
