Mr. Rai was recently tasked by the Supreme Court to audit the temple’s finances based on the recommendation of Gopal Subramaniam, Amicus Curiae in the case relating to the temple in the apex court.

Registers sought At a meeting with members of the newly constituted managing committee of the temple on Monday morning, Mr. Rai reportedly asked that all registers pertaining to the temple’s accounts be kept ready for inspection on Tuesday. Temple Executive Officer K. N. Satheesh has also formally written to the Kowdiar Palace asking members of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore to hand over any documents, books or registers relating to the temple that they may have in their possession.

The current head of the royal family Moolam Tirunal Rama Varma has also reportedly told Mr. Satheesh that he would organise a search for any temple-related document that may be located in any of the palaces and that he would hand over any such document to the managing committee.
