Election: Alappuzha Collector holds meeting

District Collector S. Suhas has directed the Police and Excise departments to initiate necessary measures for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.

He was speaking at a meeting of police and excise officials at the collectorate here on Monday.

The meeting discussed the list prepared by the police on polling stations identified as sensitive, vulnerable and critical in the district.

Mr. Suhas directed the police to finalise the list of sensitive stations and hand it over by March 20.

Firearms

The district administration has asked all licensed gun holders in the district to deposit their firearms with the police at the earliest.
