Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman K. Sivan has called upon the student community to take up their tasks without fear of failure.

Delivering the keynote address at the 15th graduation ceremony at the Amritapuri Campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham here on Friday, the ISRO chairman said that each student has the duty to contribute to the nation’s development. This, he said, would be possible only if the students worked with confidence and without fear of failure.

Giving the benediction address, Mata Amritanandamayi said, “In the present times, when the harmony of nature is getting more and more disturbed, the world’s hope rests on students like you.

The confluence of love, compassion and societal responsibility in students like you should lead the world towards peace. Rather than just thinking about your own needs, you should also think about what you can contribute towards the betterment of the world.”

Addressing the students, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham president, Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri called upon the students to remember that gaining knowledge was a continuous process and that every student had the duty to use each moment in life for the betterment of society. As many as 1,325 undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D students attended the graduation ceremony.

Bipin Nair, Dean, Amrita School of Biotechnology, welcomed the gathering and Balakrishnan Shankar, Associate Dean, Amrita School of Engineering proposed a vote of thanks. Other who were present included Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Vice Chancellor P. Venkat Rangan, Registrar K. Shankar, Amrita ayurveda medical director Brahmachari Shankara Chaitanya, Dean of Research and Director of the Amrita Centre for Nanosciences Shantikumar Nair, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre medical director Prem Nair.
