CPI(M) again in violence mode: BJP

June 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - KANNUR:

The district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the CPI(M) is preparing for unleashing violence in the district in response to the fear over its district secretary P. Jayarajan’s arrest in the Kathirur Manoj murder case.

BJP district president K. Ranjith said at a press conference here on Monday that his party had clear information that the CPI(M) was making bombs in seven centres in the district, including a place close to Kannur town.

The BJP also alleged that though the police were informed of the situation, they were not taking action. Instead of stopping the CPI(M) from making bombs, the police in many places helped the party workers. The police had also given CPI(M) workers enough time to destroy evidence at the spot of the explosion at Chettakkandy. The CPI(M) workers who were involved in bomb-making were immediately shifted from the scene.
