Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Saturday that the government had sought clarifications on the appointment of T. P. Senkumar as DGP, on the basis of legal opinion.
Talking to newspersons here, he pointed out that he had already made it clear that the supreme Court verdict was binding on the government. The court had said that there was no ground for doubts on the verdict. Though there were differences of opinion on the observation, the government had issued orders on the appointment.
Asked about the CPI(M)’s links with Kerala Congress in Kottayam, Mr.Pinarayi said it was a matter of regional cooperation, executed as part of an agenda to defeat Congress and BJP. The party had adopted similar stand earlier too. But the party was not having any close relationship with Kerala Congress, he said, and pointed out that the latter had walked out of the Assembly along with Congress.
On the detection of weapons from the Maharaja’s college students’ hostel, he said he had made a statement in the Assembly, based on the FIR filed by police.
