: In an endeavour to prevent accumulation of non-degradable substances, District Collector P.S. Muhammed Sagir has impressed upon political parties to use only biodegradable and eco-friendly materials for poll campaigns.

Mr. Sagir, who is also the chief electoral returning officer, on Wednesday, asked the contestants to use paper posters, cloth banners and polyethylene substances instead of flex boards.

The Collector’s order came following a recommendation made by district Suchitwa Mission coordinator P.V. Radhakrishnan.
