Book Bishop: Vellappally

June 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Thrissur:

A day after Idukki Bishop Mar Mathew Anikuzhikkattil raked up a row with a comment against inter-caste marriages, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has criticised the Bishop saying he is talking like a ‘religious fundamentalist’ with poisonous sting.

Talking to presspersons here on Sunday, Mr. Natesan said a case should be registered against the Bishop under Section 153 A of the IPC for his attempt to spoil religious harmony. The Bishop had on Saturday said that it was against the Christian belief to marry outside the faith. He had also alleged that the SNDP and 'love jihad' campaign were kidnapping Christian girls with a hidden agenda.

Mr. Natesan said: “Christians are those who spend crores for conversion. Retreat centres such as Muringoor are centres of conversion. Foreign funds are flowing to the country for religious conversion.”

Mr. Natesan mocked at the criticism against communal organisations by CPI(M) State unit secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
