District panchayat president S. Jayamohan has been selected for the N. Sivasankara Pillai award instituted by the Neeravil Navodayam Library in recognition of his contributions to promoting organic vegetable farming and reviving paddy and dairy farming in the district.
A statement issued by the library said his initiatives had helped generate many employment opportunities as well. The award carrying a cash prize of Rs.10,001, trophy and citation will be presented to Mr. Jayamohan at a function to be held at the library on October 21.
