ADGP should not act as court: Kodiyeri

June 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Thrissur:

ADGP Sheik Darbesh Sahib should not act as the court without submitting the charge sheet in the bar bribery case, CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a seminar here on Saturday, he noted that the charge sheet had all evidences in the case against Finance Minister K.M. Mani.

Vigilance Director Vinson M. Paul is a decent officer and he should give direction to submit the report at the court, he said.

“If there is any mistake in the investigation, it will be the responsibility of the investigating officer. It is the court that should take a decision on the charge sheet. If the charge sheet is not submitted in the court, the CPI(M) will fight against it in the court. We will not allow Mr. Mani to escape. Even a driver was willing to face lie-detecting machine. But Mr. Mani says he is scared of the machine,” Mr. Balakrishnan said.
