AAP against Adani-led Vizhinjam plan

June 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 03, 2016 02:40 am IST - Thrissur:

The Aam Aadmi Party will protest against the Adani Group-led development of the Vizhinjam International Multipurpose Seaport project, AAP leader Somnath Bharti has said.

He was addressing a State-level volunteers’ meet of the party at the Thrissur Town Hall on Sunday.

“The AAP has given a powerful weapon to the people in Delhi — the anti-corruption helpline number, 1031. The helpline number has become a nightmare for the corrupt. The AAP will fight against corruption without fear.  If AAP is voted to power the party will take action against Finance Minister K.M. Mani,” he said.

He called upon the AAP volunteers to prepare for the coming election. “The party should have at least 10 volunteers in each booth. The workers themselves should find the working fund. The task is heavy but it is not impossible. The AAP has proven it in Delhi. The change will happen. First it happened in Delhi. Now it’s the turn of Kerala.”

AAP leaders will be selected by the people, not by the party, Mr. Bharti said. Unless people choose a person, no one can become an AAP leader, he added. He called upon the AAP leaders to prove their worth by working with the common man.

AAP State convenor Sara Joseph participated.
