CPI(M) leader V.S. Achuthanandan visiting the house of Jishnu Pranoy at Nadapuram in Kozhikode on Thursday.

Veteran CPI(M) leader and Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V.S. Achuthanandan on Thursday called for the arrest of the chairman and managing trustee of Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust P. Krishna Das and others in connection with the mysterious death of Jishnu Pranoy, the first year engineering student of the college who was found hanging at the college hostel at Pambady last month.

Speaking to the mediapersons at the house of Jishnu at Valayam, near Nadapuram, here Mr. Achuthanandan said it was unfortunate that heads of self-financing colleges evaded arrest and moved about freely even after the police filed a case against them. They were being given an opportunity to take anticipatory bail from the court, he said. Mr. Achuthanandan, who spent about 15 minutes at the house, said that all those involved in the death of Jishnu could be brought to book.
