SmartCity: Kerala declines TECOM demand

The Kerala government has written to the promoters of the proposed SmartCity Project in Kochi declining their demand for freehold on a portion of the land acquired by the government for the project.

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan told journalists here on Wednesday that the Dubai-based promoter, TECOM, had also been told that it could not keep on making demands outside the agreement with the government. The Chief Minister observed that TECOM was delaying the project because their financial position was not good.
