Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy on Monday launched his personal campaign at the Puthuppally Assembly segment, marked with corner meetings and house-to-house campaign.

According to his campaign managers, Mr. Chandy will spend only two days in his constituency, Monday and later on April 7.

Inaugurating the campaign at Pathayakuzhi near Manarcadu, Kerala Congress(M) leader K.M. Mani said Mr. Chandy was no more a representative of the people of Puthuppally alone but a leader for all Malayalees.

Exhorting them to extend him the highest majority, the KC(M) leader reminded them that they were voting for the future chief minister of Kerala. Jose K. Mani, MP, also spoke.

Mr. Chandy reminded the audience that he was commencing his campaign for the tenth time from the same spot and pointed out that they had always bestowed him with their votes and faith.

He assured them that he would not create a situation that would make them hang their heads in shame.

Mr. Chandy covered the panchayats of Pampady, Vakthanam, Meenadom and Puthuppally and addressed 77 corner meetings before winding up the campaign.
