A youth allegedly murdered his girlfriend and attempted to take his own life at Gandlahalli in Kolar on Saturday.
Uday (23), a resident of Mastenahalli in Srinivasapur taluk, and working in Hebbal, was said to be in love with Nalini (18) for the past one-and-a-half years. According to the police, Nalini, buckling under family pressure, on Friday asked Uday not to visit her house.
An upset Uday came to her house on Saturday, and allegedly stabbed her while she was in her kitchen. Later, he stabbed himself, said Additional Superintendent of Police P.A. Koravar.
The condition of Uday, who has been admitted to a hospital, is said to be stable.
