January 22, 2019 12:53 am | Updated 12:53 am IST - KALABURAGI

A youth arrested for posting an objectionable image of Ambedkar on the social media in Jewargi taluk recently is a Congress worker, said Siddalinga Swami, State president of Sri Ram Sene and head of Karuneshwar Mutt, Andola, Jewargi taluk in Kalaburagi district.

Addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi on Monday, Mr. Siddalinga Swami said that Vinod Dabki, who was arrested for the derogatory post against Ambedkar on the social media, is not a Sri Ram Sene worker. He has identified himself with the Congress leaders in the taluk.

He criticised the Congress leaders for making provocative statements against Sri Ram Sene and Hindu deities during the protest.

Accusing the police of siding with Congress workers, Mr. Siddalinga Swami said that police officers who were present at the spot gave a free hand to the Congress workers to blame the Sri Ram Sene. He also released photographs of Vinod Dabki with Congress leaders.
