Slamming the performance of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government on completion of three months in office, BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa said the government had not yet taken off. He was speaking to presspersons in Kalaburagi on Saturday before leaving for Sindgi in Vijayapura. Mr. Yeddyurappa said disgruntled leaders from the Congress and JD(S) would soon join the BJP.

Kumaraswamyof not doing enough to address many issues like the agrarian crisis. He exuded confidence that the BJP would win at least 24 seats (out of 28 seats in State) in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In Sindgi

Vijayapura Special Correspondent reports:

Calling the coalition government a ‘dead’ one, Mr. Yeddyurappa said the government was crediting itself as the ‘best’. Addressing an election rally in Sindgi town on Saturday, he said while people were suffering from droughts and floods the government was trying to save itself. He urged people to vote for BJP candidate Gulappa Shetgar. He also said that contractors were suffering as over ₹10,000 crore worth bills are pending.

Addressing the rally, MP and Union Minster Ramesh Jigajinagi accused the Congress of burning a copy of Constitution and blaming the BJP. He also accused the Congress of neglecting and disrespecting B.R. Ambedkar.

Distributing money

Meanwhile, a video of BJP’s Sindgi taluk president Siddu Bulla reportedly distributing money to voters in the town on Saturday went viral on social media. He is seen carrying a bundle of notes, counting money and distributing it among voters. Interestingly, the money was distributed on the day when Mr. Yeddyurappa was in the town campaigning.

The voters are elected members of local bodies.

The BJP has fielded Gulappa Shetgar against Sunilgouda Patil of the Congress.

Former Minsters Govind Karjol, Lakshman Savadi, and other party leaders were present.
