Workers stranded in Benni Halla rescued

As many as 10 workers who were stranded on account of flash floods in the Benni Halla in Navalgund taluk were rescued on Wednesday.

The workers were involved in manufacturing charcoal on the bank of the stream, when flash floods, on Tuesday night, forced them to take shelter on a mound. All of them were rescued with the Fire and Emergency Services personnel conducting the rescue mission.

Flash floods in the Benni Halla occurred due to downpour in Navalgund and Kundgol taluk in Dharwad district.

In another incident, around 20 bus passengers, who were stranded after their bus was caught in flash floods in Samshi of Kundgol taluk, were rescued on Tuesday night by the Fire and Emergency Services personnel.
