A woman from Raibag taluk has complained to Additional SP Ravindra Gadagi that some police officers tried to molest her and assaulted her husband in Kudachi police station. The complaint was filed on Sunday.
The woman had married out of her caste and her relatives were angry about it. They complained to the police that her husband had been extorting money from them. The couple were summoned to the police station following the complaint. They tried to complain to the police that the relatives had been harassing them instead. She also told the police that she was an award winning sportsperson. But a sub-inspector and others assaulted her husband and tried to molest her on April 27, she said in the complaint. While the SI had denied the allegations, Mr Gadagi has ordered an inquiry into the complaint. Deputy SP of Athani will head the investigations.
