The catchment areas of the Linganamakki, the Mani, and the Bhadra reservoirs in the district received torrential rain on Wednesday.
The water level in the Linganamakki reservoir that was 1,768 ft. on Tuesday rose to 1,771 ft. on Wednesday.
The inflow here was recorded at the rate of 18,544 cusecs.
There has been an enhancement in water level in the Bhadra, and the Mani reservoirs by 1 ft. each in the past 24 hours. At the Bhadra reservoir, it was 139 ft. on Tuesday and 140 ft. on Wednesday. The inflow here was recorded at the rate of 6,091 cusecs.
The water level in the Mani reservoir, constructed across the Varahi, was 576 metres on Tuesday and rose to 577 metres on Wednesday. The inflow here was recorded at the rate of 6,850 cusecs.
Hulikal in Hosanagar taluk received 107 mm of rain, Mani 83 mm, Yadur 77 mm, while 71 mm rain was recorded in Mastikatte. Intermittent rain has been reported in the rural areas of semi-arid Shivamogga, Bhadravati, Sorab, and Shikaripur taluks.
The Tumbaramane bridge, the link between Shedgaru and Salgadi Gam Panchayats in Tirthahalli taluk, caved in owing to heavy rain.
The relentless rain in Hosanagar taluk also resulted in mudslide in Kalluveedi Hebbigal village. K.A. Dayanand, Deputy Commissioner visited the spot.
