VTU gives honorary doctorate to ISRO chairman

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) presented an honorary doctorate to A.S. Kiran Kumar, chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation, during the University's 17th annual convocation in Belagavi on Tuesday.

In a short speech, Mr. Kiran Kumar said he was accepting the honour on behalf of ISRO. It is indeed a privilege to receive such an honour from an institution of such magnitude, he said.

Mahendra Group chairman Anand Mahendra was also awarded the honorary doctorate in absentia.
