VC soon for vet varsity

Minister for Sericulture and Animal Husbandry A. Manju told the Legislative Council on Tuesday a decision on appointment of Vice-Chancellor for Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University would be taken in a fortnight.

In a reply to BJP member Raghunathrao Malkapure during question hour on Tuesday, Mr. Manju said the search committee would meet on November 28 to shortlist the name for the post. After appointing the Vice-Chancellor, steps would be taken to fill up the 1,113 vacant posts in the University.

Meeting

Minister for Public Works, Port and Inland Transport H.C. Mahadevappa told the Legislative Council on Tuesday that he would soon convene a meeting of officials responsible for toll collection and maintenance of facilities near toll booths in the State and that Ccouncil members would also be invited to the meeting.

In a reply to Arun Shahapur during question hour, Mr Mahadevappa said lack of adherence to the national toll policy would be discussed in the meeting and strict warning would be issued to those concerned.
