film actor and director Upendra launched his political outfit - Karnataka Prajnavanta Janata Paksha - at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

On the eve of the 62nd Karnataka Rajyotsava, film actor and director Upendra launched Karnataka Prajnavanta Janata Paksha (KPJP), his political outfit in Bengaluru.

Though Mr. Upendra planned to name his party Uttama Praja Party (UPP) earlier, ardent follower of the actor Mahesh Gowda, who had registered KPJP earlier came forward to lend the name “as his idea matched with the manifesto of the actor.”

The party launch at Gandhi Bhavan was cinematic and noted artist Vilas Nayak presented the agenda of the party on a canvas, on how Rajakiya (politics) being steered by leaders will transform in to Prajakiya (rule by the people).

Considering the media as the true representative of people, actor Upendra asked journalists present on the occasion to launch KPJP.
