Two sentenced under POCSO Act

Two brothers, who tried to kidnap a minor girl, were sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment under Prevention of Children From Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) in Bidar on Friday.

Shivalinga Yerabage (22) and Siddalinga Yerabage (26) were found guilty by the Principal District and sessions judge and POCSO designated judge Hanchate Sanjiv Kumar.

He also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the accused. The offence had occurred in a village in Bhalki taluk two years ago. Mr. Vidyadhar, special public prosecutor had argued the case.
