The Hassan police have solved the murder case that had come to light on April 24, when the body of Suresh, resident of Dasarakoplu, near Hassan, had been in the Kattaya forest area.
The police have arrested two persons, including a minor, on the charge of murdering Suresh and recovered Rs. 49,000 in cash, some weapons and mobile phones from them. Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta told presspersons here on Saturday that Suresh, who was working for a cosmetics agency, was murdered on April 21 by three persons, who were known to him. His decomposed body was found three days later in the forest area. The police gave the names of the arrested as G.R. Rahul (20) from Gunde Gowdana Koplu on the outskirts of Hassan, and a 17-year-old person. Darshan, another accused, is stated to be absconding.
Rahul, the prime accused, was a colleague of Suresh. The employer had retrenched Rahul from his job, a few days ago. He, along with his two friends, hatched a conspiracy to loot money after murdering Suresh, who was handling the company’s cash. The trio lured Suresh on April 21 to come to Goruru, where they killed him with lethal weapons and took away Rs. 49,000 in cash from him.
